View your iPhone’s remaining storage space with a 3D Touch gestureSeptember 6, 2019
Every so often, I happen upon new jailbreak tweak releases that incorporate ‘no-brainer’ functionality into iOS, and this prompts me to wonder why the software design team at Apple hasn’t implemented similar features into their platform out of the box.
Storage3D by iOS developer Wh0ba is one such release, and as you can discern for yourself in the screenshot example above, this tweak lets you view your handset’s remaining storage space in the 3D Touch menu that appears when you use a 3D or Haptic Touch gesture on the Settings app icon via the Home screen.
The concept behind Storage3D is so simple, and yet it makes so much sense for Apple to implement. Storage space is an important detail for any smartphone owner, especially for those who generally purchase the most cost-efficient iPhone model to save a buck.
Storage3D doesn’t come with any options to configure, and it doesn’t need any. The tweak does precisely what it was intended to do from the moment it’s installed.
If you’re interested in giving Storage3D a try, then you can download it for free from the BigBoss repository. The developer has also open-sourced the tweak on GitHub for those interested in learning how it works.
Storage3D is compatible with all jailbroken iOS 9, 10, 11, and 12 devices, except for the A12(X) variety. Even if your handset doesn’t support 3D Touch, then you can use Storage3D in tandem with a 3D Touch-porting tweak for your non-3D Touch handset.
